Cal Salmon Wild Whitewater

Extreme Rafting Adventures

The Wild and Scenic California Salmon River is one of the most amazing whitewater rafting trips in the country. This Northern California Class 4-5 river is a little know gem that is at the top of "must do" rafting trips in the United States. As one of the largest tributaries to the Klamath River this run has outstanding scenery and whitewater action.

  • Wild, extreme, whitewater rafting adventures
  • Difficulty: Class 4/5
  • Minimum age: 16
  • Experienced Class 5 guides
  • Two day, two night raft trips
  • Gourmet, healthy, hearty meals
  • Friendly and fun guides
  • Spring trips only, so don't miss it!

Scenic, Spectacular, Beauty

With picturesque waterfalls, lush forested gorges, and spectacular green waters this is one of the best whitewater rafting high adventures for the thrill seeker. This 2 night, 2 day river trip can be combined with a run down the Class 5 Scott River making it a true river rafting adventure.

We will depart from Ashland, Oregon the first evening and head to the Cal Salmon. The first full day we will raft the Butler Ledge section on the Salmon and then sit around the campfire that night reminiscing about the days adventures and anticipating the next days events. The second day we will raft the Class 5 Nordheimer section and celebrate at the end of the day for a super spectacular adventure!

Safety First

Participants on the Cal Salmon Class 5 rafting trip are not required to have any prior rafting experience but we do require that you are in good physical condition and adventurous. A Class 5 swim test may be required dependent on river water levels. This doesn't mean you need to practice swimming a Class 5 rapid, but merely a Class 3 rapid. We want to know that you will be able to handle the rigors of rafting this physically demanding stretch of river. If you are more inclined to raft the Class 4 Butler Ledge section, we can raft it twice, please let us know upon reserving your raft trip.

We will camp under the stars at the Nordheimer campground, serve you hearty and healthy gourmet meals from lunch the first day through lunch the last day, and we can outfit you with a tent, sleeping bag, and a 3" thick sleeping pad if needed. A small rental fee for camping gear will apply.

Join us for a river adventure down the Cal Salmon, this amazing scenic stretch of river, challenge yourself, and have a blast!
